I'm still su confused. So basically NetNeutrality is dead? Orr
Its dead af unless congress overturns it
Not yet. The vote went in favour of getting rid of it, but it still has to go through a court thing which can deny the repeal and keep net neutrality. It's been denied twice already I think.
Ish Da Philippines is affected? to dis net neutrality
What it means is that ISP's (Internet Service Providers, eg: Verizon) will now have the power to control the broadband from charging access to other websites and slowing down your bandwidth. I made an example of what this may look like.
but fr, why are people already saying goodbyes? if net neutrality actually gets passed congress, we are still gonna have net neutrality for awhile. The US government is slow asf
they aren't just gonna suddenly get rid of net neutrality by tomorrow
we still have months until they get rid of it
We have a long time
so let's all try to chill for a little
Spoiler: oh gosh please no
*flips table and tries to hide anger*
Well people are planning to sue the FCC I think.
well that's kinda hard when they have all the money and a lot of power
Yeah. But Netflix is against the FCC, so they will be joining the fight for gaining the rules for Net Neutrality.
Check Netflix's Twitter to see what I mean.
Yeah, New York is leading a multi-state lawsuit or something like that.
lmao yeah but still, it's the US government, there isn't much they can do
AT&T, sprint, and Verizon all scored big time
You never know. We can hope for the best.
